Letter About Medicare Savings Program Benefits Ending

People enrolled in the Medicare Savings Program may have recently received a letter from the State of Wisconsin saying their health care benefits would be ending January 1, 2019, because they are not receiving Medicare Part A. This letter may have been sent due to a system error.

The Social Security Administration or Medicare contacts people about changes to their Medicare Part A. Changes to Medicare Part A may affect Medicare Savings Program benefits.

If people received a letter as a result of the system error, they will receive another letter with updated information about their Medicare Savings Program benefits. They do not need to take any action.

People who have questions regarding their Medicare Savings Program benefits can contact their income maintenance agency.
