Request for WI Nursing Home Infection Preventionists to Complete the WI Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) in Long Term Care (LTC) Coalition 2018 LTC Baseline Prevention Practices Assessment Online Survey

The WI HAIs in LTC Coalition is pleased to announce the availability of the 2018 LTC Baseline Prevention Practices Assessment Survey. The Coalition developed this survey based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) LTC Baseline Prevention Practices Tool to evaluate the status of infection prevention and control efforts in WI nursing homes. While completion of this survey is voluntary, the Wisconsin HAIs in LTC Coalition is requesting that each nursing home’s infection preventionist complete and submit only one survey for the facility no later than November 30, 2018.

Survey results are anonymous and will be used to measure practice changes from surveys conducted in 2012 and 2015 and to assist the Coalition in planning future educational programs on infection prevention and control. The aggregate results of the survey will be shared with Wisconsin nursing homes. The survey takes 15-20 minutes to complete. Victoria Griffin, Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) Infection Preventionist, will send an email with the link to the survey on 11/16/2018 to each facility using the email address on file with DQA.

Results from the 2015 survey were used to host educational events, including a two-day Infection Prevention and Control Education Conference held in May 2017. Many of the presentations from this conference were recorded and remain available for viewing on the Events page of the WI HAIs in LTC Coalition website. If you have questions, please contact Victoria Griffin.
