Introducing the New Data Brief Bulletin
DHS collects lots of data regarding Comprehensive Community Services (CCS). This data brief bulletin will be published at least quarterly. The goal is to provide timely data and analysis to help CCS programs manage quality improvement efforts.
Featured Data Analysis
CCS Medicaid Count of Recipients and Expenditures Paid to Counties and Tribes, 2013-2016
The table below presents a total count of Medicaid CCS
recipients (number of persons served) and claims expenditures (amount paid by
Medicaid to each county and tribe) by county and tribe from 2013-2016 for CCS programming provided
under the standard Medicaid fee-for-service system.
The number of
CCS Medicaid recipients and expenditures increased during this time period. This result is expected due the rapid expansion of the number of counties and tribes providing CCS during this time period.
Compared to 2015, 2016 expenditures increased by 79 percent or $27.8 million. This rate is lower than the previous year. Compared to 2014, 2015 expenditures increased by 123 percent or $19.5 million.
It is important to note that since counties paid
the non-federal share of CCS costs prior to July 1, 2014, the expenditure totals presented below represent only the federal share paid through the state’s Medicaid
program through June 2014. Expenditures beginning July 1, 2014, include both the
federal and non-federal share of Medicaid CCS costs.
