Naloxone Administration in Outpatient Mental Health 
and Substance Use Disorder Clinics

The Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) and the Bureau of Prevention, Treatment and Recovery within the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) have developed a publication to provide regulatory guidance related to naloxone use in community based substance abuse and mental health programs.

Programs are encouraged to develop procedures for the use of naloxone in emergency overdose situations. Please also see the Department’s webpage at https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/opioids/index.htm for more information.
