Social Media Awareness Materials for Caregivers

In an effort to improve awareness about the potential for caregiver misconduct and violation of resident rights through the use of handheld devices to share information and personal photos or videos of residents, the Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), Office of Caregiver Quality (OCQ) launched a Social Media Awareness project in 2017 with grant money received from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Resources were developed as part of this project, including a brochure, poster and videos.  In December 2017, nursing homes were mailed 2 posters to place in areas designated for employees only, and 100 brochures to distribute to new and existing employees.

DQA would like to offer nursing homes one last opportunity to order posters and brochures which will be mailed to your facility at no charge.  After this notice, posters and brochures can be printed from the DHS Webpage Caregiver Misconduct - Use of Handheld Devices and Social Media.  Resources on this page also include the videos that were developed as part of this project.

If you would like to order social media posters and/or brochures, please identify the quantity of posters and/or brochures requested, along with your name and mailing address to the DQA Office of Caregiver Quality (OCQ) at DHSCaregiverIntake@wi.gov. Please submit requests for additional materials by May 18, 2018.
