Nominate a company now for the Governor’s Export Achievement Awards. These awards recognize outstanding companies that contribute to Wisconsin’s global competitiveness by achieving remarkable results in international markets. Award winners receive a distinctive plaque and additional publicity from WEDC, including a custom video telling the company’s export story.
Any Wisconsin company or organization successfully engaging in or assisting in the export of products or services produced in Wisconsin is eligible to apply. Nominate your own company/employer or another company or organization with which you're familiar by July 16. Learn more.

DATCP welcomes Claire Esselman as the Food Export Midwest State Export Intern. In this role, Claire will provide program support for Food Export Midwest projects undertaken by the international staff at DATCP. Primary responsibilities include market research, communicating with Wisconsin companies, assisting with reports, and preparing for events and trade missions. Claire is attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing an agriculture economics degree with certificates in public policy and history.

August 5-8, 2025 Castro, Brazil
Taking place in Castro, a national capital of milk production, Agroleite is aimed at all phases of the milk supply chain and is the place to showcase milk technology in Latin America.
DATCP staff will lead a trade mission to Agroleite including visits to farms in the region. Dairy producers and genetics companies are invited to participate to develop relationships with potential buyers and increase demand for Wisconsin dairy genetics.

India is a compelling market for U.S. food products, driven by its rapidly expanding middle class, urbanization, and evolving consumer preferences towards healthier and premium food options. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the best products for the market include pulses, fresh and processed fruits (such as cranberries), distilled spirits/alcohol, wine, confectionery, and tree nuts.  On May 9, 2025, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) was pleased to host a delegation of Indonesian government officials, led by the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC), as part of ongoing bilateral cooperation in the dairy sector. This visit was a follow-up to Secretary Randy Romanski’s Trade Mission to Indonesia in March and supported continued efforts to build stronger ties between the U.S. and Indonesian dairy industries. With Indonesia working to expand its national school milk program and increase overall dairy consumption, the delegation visited Wisconsin to observe U.S. dairy production practices and regulatory standards firsthand.
Thank you to the Center for Dairy Research, the Dairy Cattle Center at the University of Wisconsin, Wisconsin dairy businesses and regulatory partners for welcoming the delegation and offering a meaningful look at the high standards and strengths of Wisconsin and American dairy industry.

 DATCP staff recently participated in the USDA Agribusiness Trade Mission to Hong Kong, joining over 40 U.S. companies, USDA cooperator groups, and four state departments of agriculture to explore export opportunities and promote Wisconsin agriculture in Hong Kong.  From May 17 to 20, 2025, DATCP staff along with representatives from Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI), Driftless Provisions, La Crosse Distilling Co., Maple Valley Cooperative, and The Pink Bakery headed to Chicago, IL, to exhibit at the National Restaurant Association Show. *The Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports (WIAE), a collaborative project between DATCP and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), aims to boost the export of dairy, meat, and crop products by promoting Wisconsin agricultural products in the international marketplace. The WIAE was proposed in Gov. Tony Evers 2021-23 biennial state budget.
