USDA Cancels Local Food Purchase Assistance 2025 Program
The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) received a letter on March 7, 2025, from the United States Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA AMS) that the federal government is canceling the Local Food Purchase Assistance 2025 program, also known as LFPA25.
The USDA AMS notice stated that LFPA25 does not fit with current agency priorities.
Please note, however, that LFPA and LFPA Plus agreements already in place will continue for the remainder of their grant period. According to the letter from AMS, expenses for the LFPA and LFPA Plus grants will still be reimbursed.
