Celebrate American Heart Month and Save Lives!
February is American Heart Month, and we’re proud to join the American Heart Association (AHA) to celebrate and raise awareness about heart disease and stroke.
AHA uses this month to educate communities about heart disease, the leading cause of death in women, to honor heart heroes, and to urge every family in the U.S. to join the Nation of Lifesavers by learning CPR. Here are a couple of ways you can celebrate:
Learn CPR
Find a CPR class and learn this life-saving skill! Classes are free for Tacoma, Fire, and Fircrest residents.
Donate blood
About 328 million people currently live in the U.S. Each year, approximately 6.8 million people in the U.S. donate blood. Your blood donations are used for patients in need of surgery, cancer treatment, and transfusions for blood loss from traumatic injuries. Find a blood drive near you.

Pan con Café is a community group designed to foster meaningful social connections. We work with Blue Zones and Pierce County Parks to bring families together to build relationships, share experiences, and access valuable info.
The group met with community members on Feb. 11 to talk about how to shape the future of the local parks and recreation spaces. Families joined the conversation, participating in a community that values connection, support, and shared growth.
