Family Resource Centers
Get the help and resources you need at our Family Resource Centers. They help children, families, and communities thrive. We design each resource center with unique services to meet the needs of the community around it. In July and August, we referred families to more than 270,000 community resources. We also offered dozens of classes, support, community events, and meetings.

Help your child break the cycle of anxiety.
Anxiety is common in children and adults. It shows up differently for each person—worry, anger, an upset stomach, fear, and lots of other ways. The good news: If your child deals with anxiety, you can help them become more emotionally resilient!
Fear-Less Triple P helps you learn new strategies for anxiety management. We’ll give you the tools to better understand your child’s anxiety, manage anxious feelings, and stop unnecessary worrying.
If your child struggles with anxiety and is 6–14 years old, get the tools you need to help them break free! Sign up for our next virtual Fear-Less Triple P group series, starting Oct. 9.

Flowers, hummingbirds, and a butterfly
Every month, Franklin Pierce Family Resource Center (FPFRC) Community Resource Navigator, Blanca Sagastizado hosts community group, Pan con Café. Franklin Pierce families come together to make connections and provide feedback about FPFRC.
This summer, FPFRC families met with local artist Saiyare Refaei to share ideas for a new resource center mural. Families brought their vision to life, helping paint the mural. The result? A beautiful collage of flowers, hummingbirds, and a butterfly. One parent said, “The flowers are like the resource center. We are like the hummingbirds and the butterfly that keep coming back.”

Empower, educate, uplift
Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center’s (MCFHC) 50 programs make up one of Pierce County’s most unique and comprehensive nonprofits. MCFHC empowers, educates, and uplifts thousands of Pierce County residents. Here are a few ways we help:
- A recent partnership with the Emergency Food Network (EFN) helps families that experience food insecurity have increased access to healthy food.
- Family Math Night and Primetime Reading enrich school readiness for our early learners. These programs help prepare kids for kindergarten.
- Since January 2023, we helped 403 households that faced eviction maintain their housing.
- We’re building a new MCFHC home! Our new cutting-edge facility, Cora Whitley Family Center will house 10% of all Tacoma’s childcare services and will host all MCFHC programs. Our new home will help us become an even stronger pillar of support for our community.
We’re excited as we gear up to help even more Pierce County families and uplift more people!
