Family Resource Centers
Family Resource Centers help children, families and communities thrive. We provide the help and resources you need. Each resource center has unique services. We design each center to meet the needs of the community around it. In February, we referred families to more than 63,000 community resources. We also offered dozens of classes, support, community events and meetings.

The 24-hour news cycle and overly dramatic headlines draw us in. Mass media and social media platforms use psychology to ‘push our emotional buttons’. This can create a cycle of fear, anger, and more screen time.
As part of learning to regulate emotions and behavior, children need to understand when the media are pushing these emotional buttons. It’s important all the time—Even more so in times of uncertainty. Learn how to feel positive in an uncertain and changing world. (Español)

According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the U.S. Pregnancy is an important time to monitor cardiovascular health. Black and Indigenous women are especially vulnerable because of the high rates of maternal and infant mortality compared to white women. If a pregnant person has high blood pressure, it could be a condition called pre-eclampsia. This condition can produce dangerous seizures even after pregnancy.
“Pregnancy acts like a stress test,” says Dr. Uma Krishnan, a board-certified cardiologist with Pulse Heart Institute.
Dr. Krishnan says diabetes or hypertension during pregnancy can be an indicator of possible heart problems later in life. Learn more about simple steps to help your heart.
