Pierce County residents help each other. From neighbors sharing food with neighbors, to friends driving friends to vaccine appointments, we residents show up for one another.
We asked local partners how we could help create new opportunities to talk about vaccine. No pressure. No preaching. Just listening and having a casual conversation with people who already live and work in your neighborhood. Talking through some of these issues in a no-pressure zone is our best path forward to ending this pandemic.

Got questions about COVID-19 vaccine? “Try and include us in that conversation,” said Dr. Michael Alston from Kaiser Permanente Washington in Tacoma. “We want to have the opportunity to sit with you, maybe offer you something you might not have heard about and offer you resources that help you in making this choice.”
He welcomes the conversations and wants everyone who isn’t sure about getting the vaccine to talk to their healthcare provider.

We’ve recently heard from many of you who have questions about COVID-19 tests. In a way, that’s good: Testing remains one of our best tools to protect your health and slow the spread of COVID-19. But much of this interest is because the delta variant is causing cases and hospitalizations to increase very quickly in Pierce County and around the country.
We’re working hard to increase testing to match the growing need for tests.

COVID-19 vaccine doesn’t affect fertility. Moreover, experts don’t know of a reason the vaccine could do harm.
Popular social media influencers suggested otherwise recently and the rumor took off online, but it has no basis in fact. A lot of misinformation exists about COVID-19 and the vaccines online. It can be difficult sometimes to determine what is myth and what is fact.
That’s why we want to address this specifically.
