The Snohomish County Auditor's Office is seeking individuals to write statements for or against local ballot measures for the August 5, 2025, Primary local voters’ pamphlet. Voters’ pamphlets will be mailed to all households in Snohomish County.
Although it is the responsibility of the district to find pro and con committee members, the Auditor’s office makes an additional attempt to find volunteers when the district is unable to find at least one member for a committee.
Committees are comprised of up to three individuals, one of whom is designated chair and serves as a contact point for the Auditor’s office. Committees may seek input from any number of other individuals or groups.
Individuals interested in participating on a committee should have a clear interest for or against the ballot measure, be able to work cooperatively with other committee members, and have time available through May 12. Most committees communicate through email. Due to recent legislation, committee members must now reside within the district that is running the ballot measure.
Committees write a 250-word statement for or against local ballot measures in the local voters’ pamphlet. Committees also prepare a 75-word rebuttal to the opposition’s statement. Statements are due no later than at 5 p.m. May 8. Rebuttal statements are due no later than 5 p.m. May 12.
If you are interested in serving on a committee, email a statement of interest to elections@snoco.org by 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 6 or contact the Auditor’s Office at (425) 388-3444. Individuals will be appointed by the County Auditor and will be notified by 5 p.m. May 6.
A statement of interest includes:
- your name,
- your email address,
- your phone number,
- your residential address,
- the district name and proposition number of any committee for which you are volunteering, and
- any information explaining why you should be on the committee.
