Councilmember Nehring's May Newsletter

Snohomish County NewsNate Nehring

Dear North County Neighbors,

I hope you all had a joyful Easter with your families. As we move into spring, there is lots happening in our community and at the County Council. In this month’s newsletter, I am trying something new (based on a suggestion from a newsletter subscriber) with a brief summary of the newsletter at the top in case you don’t have time to read the entire newsletter. If it is successful, I plan on including the summary in all newsletters moving forward. Please let me know what you think of the new newsletter summary section:

🏅 Community Impact Award: Recognized with Councilmember Jared Mead for promoting civil discourse and bridge-building in local government.

🛠 RAP Spring Showcase: Celebrated student achievements in skilled trades; honored Leonard Kelley with the 2025 RAP Champion Award.

❄️ Cold Weather Shelter Recognition: County Council honored shelter volunteers who served during many winter nights.

🚐 New RV Parking Ordinance: Passed laws limiting RV parking and supporting cleanup of derelict vehicles to improve public safety.

🗣 Community Engagements: Participated in events including the Granite Falls Chamber meeting, Good Friday Prayer Breakfast, Marysville Easter Egg Hunt, and Workers Memorial Ceremony.

2025 Community Impact Award

Last month, I was honored to be recognized by Snohomish County Emerging Leaders with their 2025 Community Impact Award. Councilmember Jared Mead and I were recognized for the work we are doing to promote civil discourse in our communities. In a time of significant political upheaval and divisive political rhetoric, we are focused on building bridges and finding common ground in local government.
