Councilmember Nehring's September Newsletter

Snohomish County NewsNate Nehring

Dear North County Neighbors,

As summer winds down and kids prepare to go back to school, the County Council is entering our budget season, one of the busiest times of the year for us. In this month’s newsletter, I will review some of the highlights from August and preview our budget process on the horizon.

Evergreen State Fair

The Evergreen State Fair in Monroe (the largest county fair in the state of Washington) has been running since August 22nd. There is still time to go to the fair, which runs through Labor Day! My family and I were able to visit the fair and enjoy the great carnival, food, music, animal exhibits, and vendors. We always have a great time at the fair! This year’s fair theme is “Bright Lights, Summer Nights” which perfectly represents the experience of many families each year at the fair.

The main stage music acts this year included Josh Turner, Martina McBride, Flo Rida, and a Tribute Trilogy. Monster trucks put on a great show during the first weekend and tonight there will be a Demo Derby. We also have the rodeo tonight and tomorrow where funds are being raised to support some great causes in our community. You can still visit the fair today or tomorrow before we have to wait another year for this great community tradition.
