 Snohomish County Elections, a Division of the Auditor’s Office, was honored with a national Clearinghouse Award for Distinguished Voter Education and Communications Initiatives. The “Clearies,” presented by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC), recognize the dedication of election offices nationwide. Now in its eighth year, the 2023 Clearie Awards celebrated exemplary programs from the 2023 elections.
Snohomish County Elections earned the award for using comic book style art to engage and educate voters. Among 32 recognized programs, Snohomish County stood out as one of five large jurisdictions to win the new “Distinguished Voter Education and Communications Initiatives” category.
“I am proud of our Elections team and their commitment to conducting fair, accurate elections voters can trust,” said Snohomish County Auditor Garth Fell. “The EAC Clearie highlights the considerable thought staff take to prepare engaging election materials and agrees with the positive feedback we have received from Snohomish County voters.”
The EAC, an independent, bipartisan federal agency, serves as a clearinghouse for election administration information. Submissions were judged on innovation, sustainability, cost-effectiveness, replicability, and positive results. |
