Councilmember Nehring's November Newsletter

Snohomish County NewsNate Nehring

Dear North County Neighbors,

I would like to start this month’s newsletter by acknowledging the horrific terrorist attack on Israel committed by Hamas on October 7th. The images and videos of the attacks are unfathomable and are jarring to our sensibilities. Following the terrorist attacks, antisemitism has reared its ugly head across the world, including here in the United States. These attacks and antisemitic demonstrations should serve as a reality check and reminder of the evil that exists in the world and here at home. I pray for the people of Israel and Jews everywhere as they face calls from Hamas to murder Jews across the globe. I am proud that the United States stands with Israel in spite of the hate that we have seen on public display.

2024 Snohomish County Budget

Most of the month of October at the County Council was devoted to 2024 budget presentations and Council deliberations on the budget. After we received the Executive’s proposed budget in September, we heard from each of the individual County departments and offices in presentations to the County Council. The presentations highlighted the proposed changes in their budgets and explained the needs within each department or office.
