County Auditor Seeks Committee Members for Local Ballot Measure Statements

The Snohomish County Auditor's Office is seeking individuals to write statements for or against local ballot measures for the November 8, 2022 General Election local voters’ pamphlet. Pamphlets will be delivered to every residence in the County.

When districts are unable to find people to serve on pro and/or con committees for their ballot measures, the Auditor’s office makes an additional attempt to find volunteers.

Committees are comprised of up to three individuals, one of whom is designated chair and serves as a contact point for the Auditor’s Office. Committees may seek input from any number of other individuals or groups.

Individuals interested in participating on a committee should have a clear interest for or against the ballot measure, be able to work cooperatively with other committee members, and have time available through August 17. Most committees communicate through email.

If you are interested in serving on a committee, email a statement of interest to elections@snoco.org by 9 a.m. August 8 or contact the Auditor’s Office at (425) 388-3444. Individuals will be appointed by the County Auditor and will be notified on August 8.

A statement of interest includes your name, your contact information, the name of the ballot measure committee on which you would like to serve, and any information explaining why you should be on the committee.

Committees write a 250-word statement for or against local ballot measures to be published in the local voters’ pamphlet. Statements are due August 12 by 5 p.m. Committees also prepare a 75-word rebuttal to the opposition’s statement. Rebuttal statements are due August 17 by 5 p.m.
