Candidate Filing for County and Local Office Opens May 13

Candidate filing begins at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13 for the 2019 ballot. 188 offices are available for filing including most county administrative offices, county council seats in districts 2 and 3, city and town mayor and council positions, fire district commissioners, school board directors, and water and sewer district commissioners. A complete list of offices up for election can be found at www.snoco.org/elections.

Candidates may file online at www.snoco.org/elections starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13 until 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 17. In-person filing is available at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office May 13 through May 17 during the business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Snohomish County Auditor’s Office is located on the first floor of the Administration West Building at 3000 Rockefeller Avenue in Everett.

To file for office, an individual must be a registered voter. Positions may have additional requirements such as being a registered voter within the district, residency within the city or town of at least one year, a minimum age, or a filing fee. Requirements for each position can be found in the 2019 Candidate Guide posted at www.snoco.org/elections.

Each candidate will provide the following at the time of filing:

• Name (as listed in the voter registration records)
• Date of birth
• Email address
• Filing fee (if applicable)
