Ballots for the April 24 Special Election were mailed to
380,000 registered voters in Snohomish County. The election features three
local ballot measures. The Sno-Isle Library District and the Darrington School
District are asking voters to consider funding measures. Fire District 28 is
asking voters to consider merging with Fire District 26. The Sno-Isle
Library District includes all portions of Snohomish County with the exception
of the cities of Everett and Bothell and the towns of Index and Woodway.
The April 24 Special Election will be the first opportunity
for voters to experience a new ballot layout. The new layout is a result
of an upgrade Snohomish County Elections has made to its vote counting system.
Voters will now mark their choices by filling in an oval. While ballots include
clear instructions on how to mark and return a ballot, election officials
believe the transition will be easy and intuitive for most voters.
Voters interested in seeing if their ballot and other mail
is ready for delivery may sign up for Informed Delivery with the U.S. Postal
Service. The Informed Delivery tool provides images of mail pieces scheduled
for delivery either through an email or an online application. This service is
not available in all parts of Snohomish County. Visit informeddelivery.usps.com
for more information and to sign up.
Voters are encouraged to return their completed ballots as
soon as practical. There are several options available for returning your
ballot – through a ballot drop box, an accessible voting site, directly to the
Auditor’s Office, or by mail.
