Feedback Needed: Skagit County Public Health COVID-19 After Action Survey
Skagit County Public Health is conducting a multipart study of our department’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Through this process, we aim to:
- Identify key lessons learned,
- Better understand our operational strengths, and
- Identify potential improvements in our department’s preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities.
If you worked in healthcare in Skagit County during the COVID-19 pandemic, we invite you to reflect on your experiences working with Skagit County Public Health related to COVID response, and provide feedback to us through this survey link. This survey should take about 15 minutes to complete.
The After-Action Report (AAR) is not meant to be comprehensive of all activities conducted in response to the pandemic. Rather, the survey and final report will focus on select CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities, in order to be better prepared for future public health emergency responses. This survey closes on May 12, 2023
If you have any questions about this survey, or the final report, please contact:

CDC COVID-19 Healthcare Guidance Updates Expected:
Thank you to all providers that are following the CDC Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations for Healthcare Personnel During the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic OR your organization's more comprehensive requirements as directed by your employer.
This guidance is based in part on the CDC COVID-19 Community Transmission Levels . Washington State Department of Health has just received notice that CDC will discontinue reporting of Community Transmission Levels on May 11, 2023.
Please continue to follow the Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations through May 11 OR your organization's more comprehensive requirements as directed by your employer. We expect updates to the CDC guidance to be issued at or around that time. We will share those updates with you as we receive them.
Worker Protection from Airborne Pathogens Required:
COVID-19 is an airborne pathogen and Washington State Department of Labor and Industries regulations will continue to require that healthcare workers caring for or in close contact with individuals known or suspected of being infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus wear a fit tested N95 respirator or equivalent level of respiratory protection against airborne pathogens.
Updates cover revision of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccination schedule as follows:
- At the time of initial vaccination, depending on vaccine product, children ages 6 months–4 years are recommended to receive 2 or 3 bivalent mRNA vaccine doses; children age 5 years are recommended to receive 1 or 2 bivalent mRNA vaccine doses
- People ages 6 years and older who are unvaccinated or previously received only monovalent vaccine doses are recommended to receive 1 bivalent mRNA vaccine dose
- People ages 65 years and older may receive 1 additional bivalent mRNA vaccine dose
