FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Beginning May 13, No Appointments Necessary on Thursdays at the Skagit Fairgrounds Vaccine Clinic
Beginning Thursday, May 13, appointments will no longer be necessary on Thursdays at the Skagit County Fairgrounds Vaccine Clinic. Those 16 years and older are welcome to stop in at the Fairgrounds to receive their first dose vaccine any time between 1pm to 7pm.
“We’ve heard from the community that a mass-vaccine walk-up clinic is needed in Skagit County,” said Jennifer Johnson, Skagit County Public Health Director. “By not requiring appointments for our Thursday clinics, we’re hoping that more people will have access to the vaccine. We also hope that more people will realize just how quick and easy it is to get their vaccine! Most times people are in and out within 20-30 minutes tops!”
The Fairgrounds will continue to offer vaccine appointments on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. First-come-first-serve walk-ups will also be available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays beginning at 10am if excess supply allows. Announcements regarding first-come-first-serve doses will be made on Skagit Public Health’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
Appointments are available for those seeking either first or second-dose vaccines, so long as those seeking a second dose initially received Pfizer. For those seeking transportation assistance to and from the vaccine clinic, please call 1-800-860-6812.
The Skagit Fairgrounds Clinic offers the Pfizer-brand vaccine which is currently approved for use in those 16 years and older. At this time, Pfizer is seeking FDA approval for use in those 12-15 years of age. More information on this is forthcoming.
