FT Dev Phase 1

Long Term Strategic Plan update

Moving into implementation!

The Fishermen’s Terminal Long-Term Strategic Plan is moving into implementation! Fishers and other terminal stakeholders helped create the plan over the past two years.

The Port of Seattle has hired the design team of Miller Hull Partnership to design the first phase of development called for in the plan. Permitting activities are also starting and a State Environmental Policy Act notice sign will be installed on-site around the third week of July.

This first phase of development is comprised of two new buildings – a “gateway” marine sales and services/warehouse building near the main entrance and a light industrial building along the west property line. To make way for the Gateway Building, the former bank building, Net Shed 7, and Net Shed 8 will be demolished. Also part of the development is a complete renovation of the former Seattle Ship Supply building for maritime-related uses. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2018.

The high-level strategies of the plan are described on the project website and the linked April 2016 report by VIA Architecture. That site also allows you to sign up to receive email updates about the plan and associated development. Please contact Capital Project Manager Tim Leonard at (206) 787-3018 or with comments and questions.

Parking reminder

As you use your boat this summer, please keep in mind the Fishermen’s Terminal Parking Policy. We have a variety of parking options at the terminal ranging from two-hour parking to three-day parking. All of the parking lots have signs stating how long a vehicle can be left in that parking area. Any parking over three days will have to be off site. No parking is allowed on wooden docks anywhere in the terminal or in the net repair area. Copies of the complete parking policy are available at the Fishermen’s Terminal office. Thank you!
