(SEATTLE, WA, Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026) -- The City of Seattle is now accepting applications for the 2027 Technology Matching Fund (TMF). Non-profit organizations and community groups with projects or programs focused on closing the digital divide and promoting digital literacy are encouraged to apply for matching grants of up to $45,000.
“The City of Seattle is excited to offer grant funding for the essential work of closing the digital divide. We continue to find many of our residents are asking for assistance to access key services, whether it’s support with devices, digital training, or other needs,” said Acting Chief Technology Officer Shannon Smith. “This is why partnering with our community leaders to assist with this work is critical to ensure the success of everyone in our City. The programs that are developed through these grants have made a difference in hundreds of lives over the years.”
TMF provides grants of up to $45,000 for eligible digital equity projects. This year, $410,000 is available for the awards, subject to City Council approval. To receive funding, proposals must meet the community match requirement, which means applicants must contribute the equivalent of 25% of the requested funding amount through volunteer time, staff hours, donated materials, or cash contributions.
Eligible Projects
Projects should increase internet access and adoption in Seattle communities. Examples of eligible activities include:
-
Digital Navigator Services: One-on-one or small group assistance for technology users.
-
Digital Literacy Training: Classes or workshops to teach essential digital skills.
-
