TODAY: Mayor Katie B. Wilson celebrates new rights for Seattle domestic workers
Seattle – Today, Mayor Katie B. Wilson will sign amendments to the Domestic Workers Ordinance (DWO) and celebrate expanded protections for domestic workers with City and community leaders.
The legislation transmitted by Mayor Wilson and sponsored by Council Member Rinck to expand protections under the ordinance was unanimously passed by the Seattle City Council.
The legislation that goes into effect on July 1, 2027 will align Seattle labor standards with statewide protections that ensure domestic workers are treated fairly in the workplace.
