Seattle named the fourth-best city in the world!🎖️🏙️

Seattle earned the number four spot in Oxford Economics' 2026 Global Cities Index, which compares the world’s 1,000 largest cities across five categories: economics, human capital, quality of life, environment, and governance. Seattle ranked particularly high in the economics and quality of life categories, with the report highlighting its diverse culture and arts offerings such as the Seattle Art Museum, the Seattle Symphony, and Waterfront Park: The world’s top cities for 2026 - and why they stand out – BBC.

⚾ Vietnamese Heritage Night with the Seattle Mariners brought together 1,800 community members and raised nearly $9,000 for Friends of Little Saigon. The funds will support the organization’s work to preserve and strengthen the Little Saigon neighborhood: Vietnamese Heritage Night raises nearly $9K – NW Asian Weekly.


⚽ The 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup brought in an estimated $889 million in economic impact to the region, according to data released by Visit Seattle. The tournament brought fans from around the world to Downtown, helping support nearly 20,000 jobs and produce $109 million in state and local tax revenue: Visit Seattle reveals economic impact for FIFA World Cup 2026 – Visit Seattle.

🚄 Amtrak’s new Airo trains will make their nationwide debut on the Cascades route Sept. 30, with daily roundtrips connecting Seattle from King Street Station to both Vancouver, British Columbia, and Eugene, Oregon. The 300-passenger trains accommodate increased ridership and feature improved amenities for travelers: All Aboard! Amtrak’s New Airo Trains Arrive This Fall – Seattle Magazine.


🏒 The Seattle Kraken announced an updated Climate Pledge Arena menu ahead of their season opener with new options for fans to enjoy. Fresh additions include a Hoisin Hat Trick Chicken Sandwich, Dungeness crab roll, and shrimp po’boy: Kraken Updates Climate Pledge menu for new season – Puget Sound Business Journal.


🚆 Seattle Center Monorail is getting an upgrade! Construction begins this month on renovations designed to improve the boarding experience and enhance accessibility. The improvement will allow the historic train to accommodate more passengers during peak summer and winter months, including concerts, sporting events, and other Downtown activations. Train service will continue throughout construction, which is expected to be completed in late 2027: New ramps, sliding doors; Seattle Center Monorail Station renovation begins this month – KOMO News.

🍫 Enjoy as much chocolate as your heart desires at the Northwest Chocolate Festival, featuring the world’s best chocolate makers, interactive workshops, and tasting opportunities. The festival will take place at the Seattle Center this weekend from Saturday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 4.


🎬 Celebrate Filipino film at the Diwa Filipino Film Festival at the Wing Luke Museum Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 4. The festival features 42 films from across the globe that showcase the diversity of Filipino stories and experiences.


🩷 Register to join the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Pier 62 on Saturday, Oct. 10. The walk along the Waterfront to support finding a cure for breast cancer begins at 10:30 a.m.
