SW Barton Construction Updates:

July 14, 2026

What's Happening Now

Concrete work on SW Barton St is complete, and the roadway has cured. Crews are now preparing for the striping and repainting phase. As soon as tomorrow, Wednesday, July 15, crews will begin removing the existing roadway striping. By Friday, July 17, they will begin laying out and applying the final striping.

During this work, traffic cones and other safety devices will remain in place to protect crews and keep the roadway clear. We’re nearing the finish line—thank you for your patience during construction!

What's Coming Up

After we complete the remaining items on our task list, we will coordinate with King County Metro to restore bus service. Please stay tuned for updates!

What Else Can You Expect?

Map of SW Barton St, Westwood Village, and Roxhill Park, where construction will take place.

Map of SW Barton St, Westwood Village, and Roxhill Park, with an orange rectangular line along SW Barton St between 29th Ave SW and 26th Ave SW, indicating the location of our construction zone, and a blue line showing where the temporary layover and bus stops will be.

During construction, you can expect:

  • Slower traffic – you will only be able to drive on the north half of SW Barton St. Plan ahead when traveling in the area!
  • Closed sidewalks – you will not be able to enter Roxhill Park from the sidewalk on the south side of SW Barton St. You can still enter the park from SW Roxbury St.

We are here for you!
