SW Barton Construction Updates:

July 1, 2026

What's Happening Now

This week (June 30–July 2), This week, crews are close to finishing the concrete work. The remaining work is on the north-side island, which was removed to make room for the temporary traffic setup. Crews plan to pour the curb island tomorrow, and coordination with Seattle City Light is underway to reenergize the lights.

What's Coming Up

Work will be suspended starting July 2 to allow time for curing and is expected to resume on July 20, when striping removal and repainting are also scheduled to begin. We will keep traffic cones and other safety devices in the street while we pause our work to keep the roadway clear and let the concrete cure entirely.

What Else Can You Expect?

During construction, you can expect:

  • Slower traffic – you will only be able to drive on the north half of SW Barton St. Plan ahead when traveling in the area!
  • Closed sidewalks – you will not be able to enter Roxhill Park from the sidewalk on the south side of SW Barton St. You can still enter the park from SW Roxbury St.

We are here for you!
