🚇⚽ Downtown is seeing record-breaking transit use thanks to the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup! Sound Transit set a new single-day ridership record twice in one week, reaching 236,000 boardings during the Belgium-Egypt match before setting a new high of 280,000 boardings for the U.S.A. vs. Australia match. To accommodate the crowds, Sound Transit deployed a record 46 trains and 174 railcars, helping hundreds of thousands of transit riders move efficiently through the city: World Cup crowds are rewriting Sound Transit’s ridership record books – FOX 13 Seattle.
🌭🍺 Local businesses near Seattle Stadium are also seeing a boost from World Cup crowds! On the day of the U.S.A. versus Australia match, overall sales increased 51% compared to a typical Friday, and transactions climbed 56% as thousands of fans visited Downtown. Beer sales more than tripled, and popular game-day foods like hot dogs, nachos and wings saw substantial sales increases, highlighting the tournament’s positive impact on many local businesses: Seattle soccer fans fuel beer and hot dog boom near stadium – Axios Seattle.
💎💍 There’s new business in Pioneer Square! Frank Darling, a New York-based bespoke diamond jeweler, opened its first Seattle showroom. This marks the company’s 13th U.S. location and third on the West Coast. The company chose Pioneer Square for its strong local customer base, historic character, and thriving business community. CEO Kegan Fisher also noted that the Seattle showroom has received the warmest welcome of any Frank Darling location to date: Seattle’s Pioneer Square lands a new retailer – The Seattle Times.

Future Arts Way: Other Earth features nearly 20 digital artworks along a 2.5-mile route from Seattle Center to King Street Station, blending art, technology, and local history through interactive smartphone experiences.
