Mayor Wilson to cut toilet paper ribbon to open new public bathrooms in Pioneer Square

Seattle Mayor Katie B. Wilson is celebrating a first step to deliver on her promise of creating clean, accessible, and safe public bathrooms with an official toilet paper ribbon-cutting event on Friday.

The City is partnering with Throne Labs to install four new public bathrooms in Pioneer Square and SoDo. The new solar-powered facilities have modern features and running water without needing a connection to water or sewer. They are free to access, cost-efficient for the City to install, and will be cleaned and maintained by Throne.

Who:
Mayor Katie B. Wilson, Seattle City Councilmember Rob Saka, Throne Labs CEO Fletcher Wilson, representatives from King County Metro, Pierce Transit, and other community leaders.

What:
A toilet paper ribbon-cutting event to open new public restrooms in Pioneer Square. Restrooms are also being installed near Lumen Field, as well as at several transit stations around King and Pierce Counties. 

When:
Friday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m.
