Westlake Park Reopening Celebration, May 28
Featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, food, and more
Seattle, WA-Seatle Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with Seattle Parks Foundation, invites the community to celebrate the grand reopening of Westlake Park! Please join us on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 401 Pine Street in Seattle from 5 pm to 6:30 pm for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, food, and more.

Community leaders will open the celebration with a few remarks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Bad Weather Brass Band will keep the party going with fun and family-friendly horns and drums!

Silver Kite Community Arts will provide a craft station for creative expression.

Seattle Chess School will be onsite with lessons and boards for players of all experience levels.

New Kids Zone and Games Area will be open near the play area, along with ping pong courts at the south end of the park.

Hungry? Concessions will be available from Bonito Cafe, and Impeckable Chicken and Plaza Garcia food trucks will be onsite with options available for purchase.

Visit the Seattle Parks Foundation tent to participate in a raffle for $50 gift cards for Westlake Park businesses!
The grand reopening celebration will showcase the improvements made to Westlake Park—electrical upgrades for improved site lighting and seasonal events, beautiful new plantings, fresh benches, expansion of and improvements to the stage for accessibility, and more. This project serves families, tourists, locals, businesses, and property owners alike by creating a more open gathering space and providing amenities to encourage people to spend more time in the heart of the city.
We are excited to welcome the neighborhood back to this beloved public space.
