Mayor to Announce Major New Investments in Children and Families

Mayor Katie B. Wilson will announce her plan for major new investments in children and families funded by the Families, Education Preschool and Promise (FEPP) Levy. The investments to be announced will provide additional support and opportunities for children; make Seattle more affordable for parents; and begin delivering on the mayor’s vision of making Seattle the best place in the country to live, work, and raise a family.

Who:
Mayor Katie B. Wilson, Councilmember Maritza Rivera, Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Ben Schuldiner, Seattle Colleges Chancellor Dr. Rosie Rimando-Chareunsap, and Director Dwane Chapelle of the Department of Education and Early Learning, joined by advocates, educators, students, families, labor partners, and others.

What:
Announce a plan for major new investments in children and families funded by the Families, Education Preschool and Promise (FEPP) Levy. The announcement will be followed by a reception catered by Seattle Public Schools food service staff.
