NBA Readiness Roundtable on Thursday, April 2 - Transportation, Waterfront, and Seattle Center Committee

Discussion follows last week’s league vote to explore Seattle expansion bids  

SEATTLE – This Thursday Councilmember Rob Saka (District 1), chair of the Transportation, Waterfront, and Seattle Center Committee (also referred to as the “STEPS” Committee) will host a roundtable of local basketball influencers to discuss Seattle’s readiness for an NBA franchise.  After the roundtable, the committee will hear about Resolution 32198 affirming the City of Seattle’s readiness for a National Basketball Association (NBA) team. Special guests scheduled to attend include:

  • Beth Knox, President and CEO, Seattle Sports Commission
  • Kristin Akers, COO, Seattle NBA Fans
  • Brian Robinson, Board Member, Seattle NBA Fans
  • Rosie Selle, VP for Marketing, Climate Pledge Arena
  • Brad Meyers, Founder, Native Youth Rise Above
  • Spencer Hawes, former Seattle Prep Panther/Washington Husky, 10th overall pick/2007 NBA Draft, retired NBA player
  • Deputy Mayor Brian Surratt, City of Seattle
