Did You Know? Guiding Principals at the SMC

In August 2020, Seattle Municipal Court judges voted to adopt the following three guiding principles for the court:

  1. Engage the community to guide court programs.
  2. Eliminate disproportional impacts upon Black, Indigenous, and people of color.
  3. Collaborate with our stakeholders to transform the system and improve outcomes.

Public Health King County's 5th Annual Every Month is Black History Month Community Health & Resource Fair

Public Health King County is having its 5th annual Community Health & Resource Fair. This event is from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Northwest African American Museum.

Some event offerings include:

  • Vaccines and health screenings
  • Health insurance and ORCA LIFT enrollment
  • Health information and community resources
  • Public health programs
  • Museum tours, art, and educational exhibits

King County S.C.O.P.E. Team's Community Resource Event

Join the King County S.C.O.P.E. Team for a community resource event from 2 PM to 5 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center.

This community event connects with local organizations and services funded through the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy.

City of Seattle: Bridging the Digital Gap for Seattle's Latino Community

The City of Seattle gave Casa Latina a $35,000 grant to create a special program for the Latino immigrant community.

The program had a few main goals:

  • Learn the Basics: Teach members how to use a computer. For many, it was their first time.
  • Build Confidence: Help people feel less scared of technology so they can find jobs on their own.
  • Use It in Real Life: Train members to use apps, send emails, and make documents for work.
  • Be Safe Online: Show people how to protect themselves from scams and identity theft.

The classes were taught in a friendly place with support in both English and Spanish.
