Save the date: Seattle Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Summer Internships youth applications open Wednesday, March 18.
SYEP connects Seattle youth and young adults (ages 16–24) to paid internship opportunities and career-ready learning experiences that build skills, expand networks, and support long-term success.
Internship Program highlights

6- to 8-week paid internship matched to your interests, skills, and availability

Pre-employment training and career-readiness activities before internships begin

Mentorship and support throughout the program

$21.30/hour pay for interns (unless otherwise communicated by the assigned employer)

Potential to earn 0.5 CTE credit for eligible Seattle Public Schools students
Youth and young adult application timeline

Applications open Wednesday, March 18 and close Monday, May 4 at 5 p.m.
- If necessary, SYEP staff will follow up with applicants via email to ask about eligibility or missing documents

250 participants (ages 16–24) will be selected by lottery
-
By Monday, May 18, applicants will be notified by email if they were accepted and what’s next in the placement process

Selected participants will complete career-readiness learning activities in-person, virtual, or hybrid (depending on the employer)

Don't miss your chance to host an intern this summer! Employers interested in hosting must apply by Friday, March 13.

Complete an Employer Interest Form. Once submitted, an SYEP staff member will send a link to the employer application.
