🚴🚧 Construction is underway on new protected bike lanes in Pioneer Square, making it easier and safer for people to bike between Downtown, the Waterfront, and the Chinatown-International District. Upgrades on South Main Street, 2nd Avenue S, and S Jackson Street will add dedicated bike space, clearer markings, and redesigned intersections that better separate riders from traffic: It’s happening: Yesler Way to get new bike lane, closing critical gap in Seattle’s bike network – SDOT Blog.

🍷🍇 WeRise Wines is bringing people together in Belltown while highlighting wines made by people of color, women, queer, and other underrepresented winemakers. With support from our Accounting and Business Consulting Program, founder and owner Jamila Conley opened her wine bar with the goal to create connections and provide a welcoming space. WeRise Wines is a place where everyone feels cared for and inspired to learn, all while celebrating the stories behind the wines: One glass at a time: ABC Program helps WeRise Wines build connections with underrepresented winemakers – Bottomline.

🦁🐉 Downtown and the Chinatown-International District came alive last week as the Mak Fai Kung Fu Association led vibrant lion and dragon dance performances throughout several neighborhoods to celebrate Lunar New Year. The beat of drums and clash of cymbals, paired with colorful costumes, attracted crowds and filled sidewalks with families and visitors welcoming the Year of the Horse: Seattle welcomes the New Year with Mak Fai Kung Fu Association – The Spectator.

🏒🥅 The Seattle Kraken hosted Black Hockey History Night at Climate Pledge Arena last week, honoring the legacy and contributions of Black players and leaders in the sport.  Alongside the action on the ice, the program spotlighted stories that helped shape hockey’s past and future. Lincoln High School’s all-girl Stomp and Shake cheer squad gave a standout performance on the ice, delivering powerful rhythms and infectious energy that lit up the arena: Cheering on Black Hockey History – NHL.com/Kraken.

🌃🌙 The Seattle Night Markets are back in Pioneer Square, starting with the First Thursday Art Walk on Thursday, March 5. Stroll through this historic neighborhood and its unique shops, amazing restaurants, and charming alleys, all while enjoying live music in Occidental Square. This event is free, fun, and a perfect way to spend an evening in Downtown Seattle.

🖼️🎨 The Seattle Art Museum’s newest exhibition revisits the legacy of the so-called “Mystic Painters of the Northwest” and expands the story of 20th-century regional art. Opening Thursday, March 5, the landmark show features works by the famed “Big Four”: Mark Tobey, Kenneth Callahan, Guy Anderson, and Morris Graves, while also highlighting artists who pushed beyond the mystic label and explored movements like social realism, surrealism, and abstract expressionism.

🐎✨ The 29th annual Chinatown-International District Lunar New Year Celebration returns this Saturday, March 7, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. This free street festival offers fun for all ages while celebrating Asian American cultural heritage and the Year of the Horse. Enjoy dragon and lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, and other cultural performances. You can also explore the food walk featuring bites from local businesses and browse a variety of artisan vendors.

🕵️🔍 Get ready for an evening of intrigue as The Dinner Detective, a popular murder mystery comedy show, continues its Seattle run with performances through Saturday, March 28 at the Crowne Plaza. Guests can enjoy a dinner-theatre experience while examining clues and helping solve a whodunit while enjoying a meal.
