Construction updates for 15th Ave W/NW + Recent Work

July 22, 2025 

The 15th Ave NW and Leary Way NW intersection underneath the Leary Way Bridge will be closed to thru traffic this upcoming weekend July 25 – 28 for roadway concrete work. The closure will begin on Friday at 10 p.m. and end by Monday morning at 5 a.m.

Ballard Bridge and Leary Way Bridge will remain open.

What to expect

  • Drivers approaching the intersection from all directions will only be allowed to make right turns. No thru traffic or left turns will be allowed at the intersection.  
  • You may hear loud humming, diesel engines, and workers' voices. You may also hear and feel low pitch vibrations.   
  • We will temporarily close the sidewalk in work areas. There will be detour signs in place to direct you around construction.   
  • Flaggers will occasionally need to stop approaching traffic to allow construction vehicles and equipment to safely enter and exit the work zone. 

What's happened lately?

In the past few weeks, crews continued to work north of the Ballard Bridge between NW Market St and NW Leary Way. Crews are continuing seismic retrofit work on the Leary Way Bridge as well. Check out these photos below to see our progress!
