🚢🌱 Washington’s first hybrid-electric ferry set sail from the Waterfront last week! The Wenatchee relaunched on July 10 from Pier 52, its first since being converted from diesel fuel to hybrid-electric power. Governor Bob Ferguson and former Governor Jay Inslee were on board the ferry to mark the occasion. The vessel is expected to reduce fuel use by up to 95 percent once fully electric. This effort highlights Seattle’s leadership in sustainable transportation: WA’s first electrified ferry sails, with 2 governors on board – The Seattle Times.
🏆 Seattle is getting national recognition. The National Civic League named our city one of ten 2025 All-America City Award recipients, an honor recognizing cities with community-driven efforts to strengthen sustainability and civic infrastructure. Behind Seattle’s award, three standout initiatives: the Food Action Plan, the Transportation Electrification Infrastructure Plan, and the Cedar River Watershed Tours. Together, these efforts reflect the City’s commitment to building a more connected and climate-ready future. 🎨 Vibrant street art is brightening up Downtown! You can find more than 30 new street murals across Downtown neighborhoods, thanks to the City’s partnership with the Downtown Seattle Association. These artworks are transforming vacant storefronts into colorful expressions of community, culture, and creativity.
