Nighttime grinding work on Denny Way next week; Yale Avenue detours
 Our construction work on the Denny Way Paving Project continues. We're paving almost 12 blocks of Denny Way to make using Denny Way easier and better for residents and commuters alike. Our work includes asphalt paving, sidewalk upgrades, bus stop changes, new pedestrian ramps, areas of widened sidewalks that shorten crossing distances, new stop bars painted on the street, and new "no turn on red" signs.

What We’re Doing Next Week
Construction will continue next week on Denny Way between Westlake Ave and Stewart St and on Yale Ave between Stewart St and Howell St, including overnight grinding work and closures on Yale Ave. Our work will reduce the number of lanes on Denny Way and close some parts of the sidewalk. If you are travelling in the area, watch for changing traffic patterns, and follow any signs that direct you around work zones.
We know this will make using Denny more of a challenge. Thank you for your patience while we work. When we’re done working, you will be able to cross the street more easily because of the newly extended curbs and pedestrian ramps. You'll also have an easier time getting to the bus or nearby businesses.

What You Need to Know About Lane Closures on Denny Way:
Denny Way Between Terry Ave and Minor Ave N – Westbound Lane Closures

July 11 to July 14 : Two westbound lanes will be closed from 7 PM on Friday until 5 AM on Monday for road work. Westbound traffic will be shifted to one of the eastbound lanes. One westbound lane between Fairview Ave N and Minor Ave N will remain closed until 3 PM on Monday.

July 14 to July 18: One westbound lane will be closed from 9 AM to 3 PM for sidewalk work.
Denny Way at Stewart St – Eastbound Traffic Detour

July 11 to July 13: Eastbound lanes at the intersection of Denny Way and Stewart St will be closed for bus lane construction. Traffic will be detoured towards E Olive Way from 7 PM to 10 PM on Friday and from 7 AM on Saturday until 12 PM on Sunday.

Denny Way at Westlake Ave – Overnight Intersection Closure

July 16: The intersection of Denny Way and Westlake Ave will be closed from 10 PM to 5 AM for overnight grinding work. Traffic will be detoured towards Terry Ave and Bell St .

Yale Ave Detours
We are coordinating our work with closures that will be happening on I-5 from July 18 onwards. To complete our paving work ahead of those closures, Yale Ave will be temporarily closed between Stewart St and Howell St next week. During this time, drivers accessing southbound I-5 should follow posted detour signs (see map above).
Yale Ave Between Stewart St and Howell St – Northbound and Southbound Traffic Detour

July 14 to July 18: Southbound and northbound lanes between Stewart St and Howell St will be closed for road construction. Traffic will be detoured towards Minor Ave and Eastlake Ave from 7 AM on Tuesday to 5PM on Friday. Local access will remain for businesses located on the north side of Yale.

July 14,15, and 16: Street will be fully closed for a one-hour period each night between 7 PM and 10 PM for grinding work.
