Hello neighbors, 

As a reminder, the Ballard Bridge is open until further notice.  

Work continues north of the Ballard Bridge on 15th Ave. Crews will stripe 15th Ave NW between NW 57th St and NW Ballard Way, excluding the NW Leary Way intersection. This work is scheduled weekday nights from 7 PM – 6 AM, beginning as early as Monday, June 23 and continuing for approximately two weeks. 

What to Expect   

• You may hear loud humming and grinding, diesel engine exhaust, and workers' voices. You may also hear and feel low pitch vibrations.  

• We will temporarily close driving lanes on 15th Ave NW between NW 57th St and NW Ballard Way.

• We will close streets to thru traffic as needed between 17th Ave NW and 14th Ave NW. You will still be able to walk, roll, bike, or drive to businesses and homes on these streets.  

• We will temporarily close the sidewalk in work areas. There will be detour signs in place to direct you around construction.  

The project team is planning on a Leary Way bridge closure as early as June 27 through 30. The Ballard Bridge will still be open. The Leary Way Bridge will be closed for seismic retrofit work.  

People driving south on 15th Ave NW will need to travel down to Leary Way NW, then use the on-ramp to access the Ballard Bridge. People traveling north from Interbay via the Ballard Bridge will need to exit down to Leary Way NW using the off-ramp to continue into Ballard.    

Please note that this schedule may change due to weather conditions or other unexpected circumstances. We will send an email update later next week to confirm the status of the bridge closure.
