Happy Summer,

RainWise Contractors!

We're halfway through June already, and so far more summer than June-uary!

Happy Pride, Juneteenth, Solstice, and swimming season for those who celebrate!

There's been lots happening in RainWise lately, have you caught all the recent updates?

Recent RainWise Program Updates

There has been a rebate increase as of June 3. Rebates for cisterns increased by 10% to $6.36 per square foot and the rebate for rain gardens increased by 4% to $7.90 per square foot. If you are between pre- and post-inspection on a project, be sure to update your calculations to get the maximum rebate!

We are exclusively using the online rebate calculator now, which reflects the rebate increase. The old excel-version has been removed from the website. The online calculator is very user-friendly, but let us know if you have questions!

New basins opened April 22, and the outreach team has been engaging with potential customers in new areas. Thanks to all of you who have joined a webinar or workshop!

Do you like to keep a printed copy of reference materials when you're in the field? The contractor reference packet has been updated. As we move towards more web-based tools, you'll see that some PDFs have been replaced by a QR code to allow you to quickly access maps and the calculator from your mobile devices.

REFERENCE PACKET

While we hope we'll never need it, we've formalized the complaint policy in case a customer reaches out with concerns. The policy is linked on the contractor resources page for your reference, along with the participation requirements with program expectations.

RainWise outreach staff have reopened an effort to engage with potential customers online. Through a link on the RainWise homepage, customers can now schedule 30-60 minute online calls with outreach staff who will answer any specific questions about the program and look at individual properties with online mapping tools.

If you have a customer who needs more information before proceeding with an in-person consult or feel like you have a property lead that would benefit from a virtual analysis before taking the time to visit, please point the customer to the link below, or via the RainWise homepage.

If you have any questions or feedback on the online pre-consultations, please let us know at rainwise@seattle.gov.

Upcoming Events

Sign up to join an upcoming workshop! These in-person workshops give customers a chance to learn about RainWise, ask specific questions about their property, and connect with contractors. Customers often won’t look further than the contractors they meet here, so this is an excellent way to solicit new customers.

There are two in-person “How to Get RainWise” workshops coming up. Both workshops run from 6:30-7:30pm, and contractors need to arrive by 7:00pm for the Q&A portion (but you are welcome to join for the whole session to hear what customers hear!). Each workshop is limited to 3 contractors, so sign up now to reserve your spot!
