Law Day Event Overview

On Friday, May 23, 2025, Seattle Municipal Court (SMC) hosted Chief Sealth High School, Nathan Hale High School, Rainier Beach High School, and SMC family and friends to experience Law Day.

We surveyed 68 participants and received the following data:

A) Would you recommend Law Day to others?

• Yes: 89.7%, Maybe: 10.3%, No: 0%

B) How satisfied are you with Law Day?

• Very Satisfied: 76%.5, Satisfied: 20.6%, Neutral: 2.9%,
• Dissatisfied: 0%, Very Dissatisfied: 0%

 C) What was your favorite Law Day activity?

• Tours: 18%, Caree Fair: 9%, Gameshow: 1%, Lunch 4%, Mock Trial: 67%

Law Day is a collaborative effort involving the SMC staff, the District and Municipal Court Judges’ Association, the King County Bar Association, and participating high schools, reflecting SMC’s commitment to engaging the community and promoting knowledge of the judicial system and its role in society.

Event Details

This event is planned for 10 AM-3 PM on Friday, Sept. 12, at the Rainier Community Center, 4600 38th Ave. S., Seattle.

Community Resource Day is a resource fair aimed at providing valuable support services to Seattle and its surrounding areas. SMC has done this type of event for at least six years and will be offering a range of services, including ticket reductions, warrant quashes, free resources, referrals, and more.
