3rd Ave S & S Main St Improvements Project Construction Updates
Construction updates: May 30, 2025
Construction on the 3rd Ave S & S Main St Improvements Project is ongoing.
This weekend (May 31-June 1) we will not be doing any work on the street. However, King County Metro will shift the trolley line to allow buses to pass on the east side of the street to the west side of the street. The street will be closed for northbound and southbound traffic, with Police Officers helping people travel east to west on S Washington.
Next week (June 2-6), we will do the following work at the below locations:

3rd Ave S Sidewalk

Pour concrete panels
-
Excavate ground for the northern tree pit

Install landscaping
-
3rd Ave S, Northeast Side (south of Yesler Way)

Demolish concrete panels
-
Pour new concrete panels
-
3rd Ave S, Southeast Side (south of S Washington St)

Grade the street surface
-
Pour concrete panels
During construction, we will restrict parking and loading on the east side of 3rd Ave.
