This upcoming weekend, May 30 through June 2, the Ballard Bridge will be open. Instead, the Leary Way Bridge will be closed for seismic retrofit work.

People driving south on 15th Ave NW will need to travel down to Leary Way NW, then use the on-ramp to access the Ballard Bridge. People traveling north from Interbay via the Ballard Bridge will need to exit down to Leary Way NW using the off-ramp to continue into Ballard.
We encourage you to take the Aurora Bridge as a detour route to avoid increased traffic.

The bike and pedestrian path on the Ballard Bridge will remain open this weekend. Due to anticipated delays, we encourage drivers to take the Aurora Bridge as a detour route to avoid increased traffic on the Ballard bridge.
Please note, the Ballard Bridge is still scheduled to close on June 6-9.
Read our blog post for more information on what to expect during that closure.
The bridge closure schedule may change due to weather conditions or other unexpected circumstances. We will send an email update later this week to confirm the status of the bridge closure. We encourage you to share this information with your neighbors, co-workers, family members, and friends who live, work, and play along or near the 15th Ave W/NW corridor.
While these closures are inconvenient to travelers like you, we appreciate your patience and understanding. We’ll keep the bridge open for you to walk, bike, scoot, or roll except when it would be unsafe. As always, Ballard businesses are open during construction. Please support them by shopping locally!
Crews will work along 15th Ave NW between NW 50th St and NW Ballard Way as part of the Leary Way Bridge seismic retrofit work. This work is scheduled from May 27 to May 29 from 9 PM – 5 AM and will continue through the weekend.
