Stay Informed: Denny Way Paving Project Update
Upcoming work on Denny Way including lane and sidewalk closures
Our construction work on the Denny Way Paving Project continues. We're paving almost 12 blocks of Denny Way to make using Denny Way easier and better for residents and commuters alike. Our work includes asphalt paving, sidewalk upgrades, bus stop changes, new pedestrian ramps, areas of widened sidewalks that shorten crossing distances, new stop bars painted on the street, and new "no turn on red" signs.
Here’s what you'll find in this email update:

What We’re Doing Next Week
Construction will continue next week between Dexter Ave and Westlake Ave. Our work will reduce the number of lanes on Denny Way and close some parts of the sidewalk. If you are travelling in the area, watch for changing traffic patterns, and follow any signs that direct you around work zones.
We know this will make using Denny more of a challenge in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience while we work. When we’re done working, you will be able to cross the street more easily because of the newly extended curbs and pedestrian ramps. You'll also have an easier time getting to the bus or nearby businesses.

New Bus Stop on Denny Way
As part of our project, King County Metro’s new Bus Stop #2249 opened this week. Located on Denny Way between 7th Ave N and Dexter Ave N, the new westbound bus stop is designed to improve transit travel time and reliability by consolidating previous stops near Dexter Ave N (#2295) and 6th Ave N (#2297) which have now been permanently closed. New concrete bus pads also provide additional reinforcement for buses, helping to prolong the condition of the newly-paved road.

- Access to your business will always be maintained. We'll let you know in advance about work and any effects to your business in person. We'll also give you a direct contact for your questions.

- Lane shifts along Denny Way near work areas, with signage to direct traffic.
