Hi all,

Sending another Good News Downtown, a communication to showcase uplifting, interesting, positive stories about activities and people Downtown.

Last week, I attended the Downtown Seattle Association’s annual State of Downtown and it was a treat to see so many civic leaders who are all invested in the success of Downtown. You’ve heard me say it before: economic development is a team sport. So, I was heartened to hear each speaker, from DSA Board Chair Sung Yang to DSA President and CEO Jon Scholes to Mayor Harrell to Governor Ferguson, talk about the importance of partnership and collaboration. That’s how we’re gonna revitalize Downtown: the public, private, and philanthropic sectors working together toward a common goal. To borrow from the Mayor, when we work together, we win together.

The event marked a “turn the corner” moment. We have made real and measurable improvements to Downtown and we're not done. You can read about some of the most notable progress here. We still have a lot of work to do, but let’s take a moment and celebrate some Good News Downtown.

If you have news or events to share or if you want to talk about the work being done to revitalize Downtown, send me an email.
