Rob Lloyd confirmed as the City of Seattle’s Chief Technology Officer

On September 3, 2024, the Seattle City Council officially appointed Rob Lloyd as the new chief technology officer for the City of Seattle.
Lloyd’s appointment by the full council completes a process that began on May 30, 2024, when Mayor Bruce Harrell announced Lloyd’s selection as interim CTO. The Seattle City Council’s confirmation of the mayor’s appointment began on August 14, 2024, when Lloyd’s appointment was recommended unanimously by the five members of the Parks, Public Utilities & Technology Committee. Calling all non-profits and community groups seeking funding for digital equity projects!

The City of Seattle’s annual digital equity grant application process opens next Wednesday, October 16, 2024, and will accept applications from non-profits that aim to close the digital divide and increase digital literacy in our community!

The 2025 Technology Matching Fund  will provide funds of up to $45,000 to qualifying non-profit organizations and community groups in Seattle for digital equity projects. A total of $455,000 has been allocated to this fund. City dollars are matched by the community’s contribution of volunteer labor, materials, professional services, or cash. Keep reading...
