A Guide to Local Events Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15 to October 15. Throughout this month, six countries celebrate their independence from Spanish colonizers including Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Honduras. Seattle’s Original Night Market returns to the Historic Chinatown International District September 21
For over 20 years, thousands of people have flocked to the annual Chinatown International District (CID) Night Market to visit local vendors, eat street food and gather with the community. When the market was temporarily canceled in 2023 due to rising costs and a lack of sponsors, community stepped up. Thanks to public support and a corporate sponsorship, the CID Night Market will return this fall with vendors offering food, arts, and crafts, and cultural performances including a lion dance, taiko, and martial arts demonstrations in Hing Hay Park.
