South Spokane Viaduct Deck Rehabilitation - No Weekend Work [Aug 16-19, 2024]

Rainy weather has changed our schedule for construction

South Spokane St Viaduct Overview Map EB Closures

Construction this weekend (August 16-19, 2024) will be halted due to impending rain in the weather forecast. Rainwater would negatively impact our ability to grind down the road surface. Rain would also negatively affect the materials we use to coat the road. Because we do not want to risk damaging materials and further slow our progress, we are ceasing construction work this weekend. Work will resume on Monday, August 19, 2024, after the weather clears. Early next week, we will also send an updated schedule for Week 4 of the ongoing Viaduct Deck Rehab.

While construction is halted, travelers may use the Viaduct as they would this weekend, both eastbound and westbound.
