This month OLS marked the seventh anniversary of Seattle’s Secure Scheduling Ordinance with nearly $9.8 million dollars recovered for over 10,000 Seattle workers since July 1, 2017. As part of our ongoing efforts to support workers' rights through business compliance OLS offers a new Secure Scheduling Ordinance training that can be accessed on the OLS Training webpage here as well as a new Secure Scheduling Model Policy that is also available for download on the OLS Templates webpage here.

To request an in-person training for a business owner or for management employees, contact a business engagement specialist at business.laborstandards@seattle.gov.
We’re coming to you! This year, the OLS Engagement Specialists will conduct targeted outreach to Council Districts 1, 2, 3, and 7. So far, members of the Outreach Team have conducted in-person visits to businesses operating out of City Council District 7 as part of OLS’ 2024 Door-to-Door Outreach Campaign. A total of 133 businesses were visited between June 20-26 with the goal of establishing OLS as a trusted resource for information and assistance to the public and increasing general awareness of Seattle’s labor laws among the business community. All businesses received a variety of outreach materials, including an OLS brochure, FAS insert, and OLS key tag. On July 17-24, members of the OLS Outreach Team will be contacting businesses operating out of City Council District 1, followed by District 2 on August 21-28, and District 3 on September 18-25.
