Good News Downtown Turns One! 🎉
We’re celebrating one year of communicating the good news coming out of Downtown Seattle! Each week, we share uplifting, interesting, and positive stories about activities and people in the heart of our city.

 New Retail Experiences 🛍
10 Seattle Restored participants grew from pop-ups to businesses with long-term leases, filling vacant storefronts with creativity and commerce.

 Increasing Foot Traffic 🚦
In an effort to make Downtown even more pedestrian friendly, the Seattle Department of Transportation made traffic adjustments with right turn on red restrictions at more than 40 Downtown intersections.

 The Return of Big Events
Seattle Center broke attendance records with major events like Bumbershoot. The music festival returned after a three-year hiatus. Five stages hosted more than 40 different artists! 🎙

We’re continuing to see positive trends of more people enjoying Downtown:
- Hotels generated $86.8 million in revenue! 🏨 More than half a million rooms are already pre-booked for 2024.
- The Waterfront welcomed nearly 500,000 visitors in 2023 and drew big crowds with 107 events. Some of the most successful events were the Waterfront Block Party, Waba Korean Festival, and Hip Hop.
- 7 million passengers cruised into Downtown Seattle – 400,000 more than the record set in 2022! 🛳
